Sometimes software companies stop selling or supporting their software
products (e.g., not releasing new patches).
At this point the product will be
said to be in the status of "legacy", "vintage" or "end of life". For instance,
on August 15, 2007, Apple announced that AppleWorks reached "end-of-life
status".
